For 5 years I had the immense pleasure of meeting new people every week, from all over the world, showing them around one of my very favorite places and documenting their visit to Asheville. I've been a part of birthdays, engagements and reunions, love affairs new and rekindled, celebrations of accomplishment and rites of passage. I've experienced so much joy of people just being together, laughing, being silly and drunk on happiness in a place that feels magical.
For everyone that experienced Photo Stroll in the RAD you now have historical photos. Most of the buildings and the artwork are gone forever.
I will look back on these memories with both fondness and a deep sadness for what has been lost.
I am currently looking for a new spot to create a memorable Photo Stroll but to be honest I am still licking my wounds. I hope to cross paths with some of you again in the future.
I spent a lot of time walking through the areas that were devastated and documented what I saw.
I also assisted some of the relief organizations taking photos.
Prints coming soon
I will be displaying photos in some of the galleries in the area as we approach the one year mark of Helene.
